Freedom School:  As we plan for our fifth year of Freedom School, we would like to expand our program to include not only the Integrated Reading Curriculum, but also mathematics and science activities.  Our effort this summer is to begin addressing the issue of summer learning loss.  Research indicates that in addition to reading skills, children experience a loss of math and science skills during the summer months.  If you love teaching math and/or science for children in grades K – 8th, please consider volunteering with us.  Please call Marion Brown for more information at (301) 495-4832 or send an e-mail to mjbcfreedomsch@aol.com.

Prison Ministry

Mt. Jezreel Baptist Church’s prison ministry serves the Lord by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through in-house Bible study, letter writing, aftercare, seminars and programs. It is an outreach ministry to men and women who desperately need the embrace of God in their lives, and encouragement of the hope of Jesus Christ to turn their lives around. Jesus said, “…I was in prison and you came to Me,” and “…Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” (Matt. 25:36, 40) If you believe the Prison Ministry may be a call on your life, monthly meetings take place on the second Saturday of each month, which you are welcome to attend. Please also feel free to contact Min. Valencia Waters or Min. Leland Core for more information.
